Another Trower album that is overlooked from 2000 is "Go My Way". The title track which is a little more that 9 minutes has some fantastic Trower guitar . This album is never mentioned much and deserves a mention in my opinion.

I loved Robin's guitar playing and his first album Twice Removed From Yesterday in 1973 through to Beyond The Mist especially in 1985 and I even named my son after him in his honour (and I told Robin that as well) but his more recent material in the last 15-20 years has a bit to 'bluesy' rather than more rock for my liking.

Despite the absence of the great Jim Dewar, this track has the great Davey Pattison on vocals, while the experienced Pete Thompson and the returning Dave Bronze make a pretty good rhythm section. In the Dewar days, I liked Trower as a second voice, but I do not want to hear him as a lead singer. There must be a good bassist/singer somewhere that he could employ, although I cannot think of one at the moment.

I accidently stumbled across a Robin Trower live radio session cd last Friday (21/11/25) in the HMV store in London's west end which was recorded live in front of an audience from either Seattle or NY cos it's a bit hard to tell from where it actually came from on the cd cover and also what the radio DJ says after the last song Little Bit of Sympathy (a usual set closer back in the 1970s) cos he sounds 'slightly stoned' to my ears although he does say something about Robin being similar to Jimi Hendrix although "Robin does his own thing" anyway the line up is of course Robin on guitar with James Dewar on bass & vocals and Reg Isadore on drums and the set list includes various songs from the first two albums Twice Removed From Yesterday and Bridge of Sighs although the song Bridge of Sighs ISN'T included in the set. The radio session cd cover claims to be dated August 13th 1973 and if the date is correct this must be one of the earliest if not thee earliest Trower recordings of the band live excluding the debut studio album Twice Removed From Yesterday released in 1973 that has surfaced in recent years cos I think this line up only started gigging live in August of 1973?. Anyway the sound quality is 'ok' throughout although the sounds 'dips' a bit in places but it's worth having if you are a Robin Trower fan all the same and especially from his 'golden era' the 1970s with James Dewar on bass & vocals and Reggie Isadore on drums.
