Re: Robin Trower

I had wanted to see this guy for ages and finally two years ago he came to Sheffield and man it was a lesson. A masterclass he strolled through the classics and "Day Of The Eagle" was immense. It made me want to sling my guitar into the pear tree. Just Brilliant.

Re: Robin Trower

I only have "Bridge of Sighs" by Robin Trower, and I haven't played it for ages...guess I'll dust it off and give it a spin.

It's hard to get studio versions of Trowers songs on You Tube so I'll just post some that havn't been mentioned.. Trower is by far one of the smoothest guitarist there is.. Dewar was awesome and I think from what I just heard he has a new CD coming out with Jack Bruce on Bass and vocals..

Re: Robin Trower

^^Thump posted many of my favorite songs in the previous two posts! Robin Trower certainly is a fantastic guitarist and over the span of roughly 40 years and still going, too!

I've been a fan of his going back to his days in Procol Harum. Although he didn't get too much of the spotlight back then, he surely did when he went solo. He is one of my favorite guitar players, with a large emphasis on blues styling and also greatly influenced by Jimi Hendrix as well!

Thump, I'm pretty sure that Jack and Jill, and Roads to Freedom are from the Victims of the Fury album, that had Jimmy Dewar on vocals and Bill Lordan on drums. :)

Your right.. For some reason I was thinking of the BLT Cd and got a couple songs Jack Bruce did mixed up.. I'll check my CD since I'm bad with song titles..:heheh:

Edit: No wonder I was confused.. I just tried to find some You Tube songs off BLT and couldn't find the ones I was thinking of..
Little Boy Lost was one and "It's Too Late".. No idea why there are none of the BLT songs on YOU Tube..
