Seriously tough to choose only one:
- AC/DC - Black In Black - one of the best albums ever recorded (regardless of genre)
- Bruce Springsteen - Born In The U.S.A. - Aside from the title track, this is easily the best thing Bruce ever did.
- Def Leppard - Pyromania - Def Leppard's best album and one of the most influential albums of the 80's. Rock music production did an about-face with this game changer.
- Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction - one of the greatest debut albums by any band... EVER.
- Metallica - ...And Justice For All - loss of Cliff and they put out an album I have often called the Heavy Metal Bible v2 (v1 is Sabbath's Paranoid). A quinessential album that any and every metal fan should own
- Poison - Open Up And Say...Ahh! - a sleek and more polished sophomore effort by the poster boys of 'glam rock' or 'hairbands' of the 80's.
- The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead - absolute garbage. If this album was on fire, I wouldn't piss on it to put it out.
- Traveling Wilburys - Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 1 - interesting putput by a 'supergroup' of sorts. Not a huge fan of it, but it was kinda cool. Unfortunately one song is STILL overplayed to this day on classic rock radio.
- U2 - The Joshua Tree - The last good album U2 ever did, also the best album they ever did. Another album that had so many hits that it gets beat to death on the radio and certain karaoke bars across the country.
- Van Halen - 1984 - David Lee Roth's swan song album with Van Halen. Not a bad note on this album and a must own for any rock fan.
I can easily eliminate a couple of albums from this list, but taking just one as the #1 best is very tough.
Find me a 4-sided die to cast and choose one of the following:
Back in Black
Pyromania
... And Justice For All
Appetite For Destruction
