Charlie Murphy on the Chappelle show talking about the time he went to Prince's house and played basketball :lmao:

Great clip... "Shirts vs. blouses! You know you didn't get that at no men's store!" Classic!

The Purple One on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"...

Harrison's son was so taken that he sought Prince afterwards for a hug!

Re: "The Official" Prince Thread

lets do album by album for those who are big fans?

Even though the true "birth of Prince" wasn't until Dirty Mind, his debut was quite impressive, especially for a 19 year old who played every last note of the album. "Soft And Wet", his first chart single, is discolicious, and "In Love" and "Just As Long As We're Together" are nice funk numbers.

O.K., with the resurgence of this thread I've restored every dead link! Every.....Dead.....One!!!! :bonk: :oyea: Seriously Prince, we aren't cool right now! :wtf:

ANF, I think your album reviews are going to be cool! I had no idea about that debut! You are right though, in those tracks you posted the potential and soul were already in place! :cheers2

I have this album and don't play it much.. As far as Dirty Mind goes.. I Love it.. Favorites off it are Uptown.. Head.. When You Were Mine.. Sister..And the Title track..
But my favorite early album he did was this..

Re: "The Official" Prince Thread

^^^ Nope, that was his 2nd album. For You was his 1st.

Whats strange is I remember seeing Prince on Soul train as a kid and it was during the "I Wanna Be your Lover" and Sexy Dancer" hit days off the album I posted.
What he wore was shocking at the time because it was more or less hot pants with nylons and a jacket with no shirt on. Back then.. You had the glam thing going on but as far as the Funk bands went.. It was big afro's.. Bell bottoms and loud colors!!
I searched a bit for any footage of that show and Nada..

Thanks Soot for recovering the video's..:cheers2
