Pop stars worse than Celine Dion?

My vote definitely goes to Mariah Carey, her high pitched squawking makes my ears bleed. I would rather listen to nails scraping down a blackboard for an hour than have to sit through a Mariah album. I don't like Celion Dion but at least her voice doesn't grate through me.

Beyonce has released the odd song I've quite liked, but also ones that are just terrible like that god-awful one that goes, all the single ladies, blah blah blah, if you like it you should've put a ring on it. Arrrggghh

A few others that come to mind that I've never liked: Shania Twain, Janet Jackson, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguillera (sp?), Whitney Houston, Mary J Bilge sorry Blige & Dido (just far too depressing).

Simon Cowell shows have spawned a lot of pop singers loads worse than Celine - far too numerous to mention!

My usual action is to hit the mute button on hearing her pipe up It's terrible at Christmas cos that Xmas song she did seems to haunt me wherever I go - turn on the radio there it is, go to the supermarket there it is, pop on the tv there it is...oooohhhh, I don't want a lot for Christmas...

Mariah Carey is the number 1 selling female artist of all time for a reason. Also only a few artists like the Beatles and Michael Jackson have an album of made up of #1 hits. Mariah has that which includes 17 #1 hits. In her prime there wasnt a pop singer with the singing range that Mariah Carey had. Yes I know she doesnt write her own songs. So what most pop singers don't. Yes her best days are behind her but she owned the second half of the 90's

I would automatically name most any contestant who got famous strictly from American Idol. People who put in NO work whatsoever other than showing up on a tv show and lasting for a few episodes. Like them or not, at least people like Celine Dion and Mariah Carey paid their dues and climbed the ladder.

I predict it will be the case for Carrie Underwood soon..will take a bit longer but she'll be hiking to the shallow pond soon too..

Well I've heard some people "joke" that Kelly Clarkson is having a hard time selling tickets because she's put on weight and if that is really true then it goes to show how superficial pop audiences are.

As for Carrie Underwood, I see her having more longevity than Kelly because she is working the country market and that genre is more tired than an ol' hound dog laying on the front porch, just to the right of the creaky screen door, who is waiting for his master to come home but he never because his pick-em-up truck flipped on his way home from drinking his sorrows away because it's 5' O-clock somewhere and because his baby left him.

How was that? Was that enough cliches?

I agree with on all points. Plus shes' a cute blonde which will distract for awhile longer then poor Kelly Clarkson..

thats ALL that shows about..disposable talent..

Oh you mean the one about how she dug her key into the side of his pretty little souped up four wheel drive, carved her named into his leather seats, took a Louisville slugger to both head lights, and slashed a hole in all four tires? My mom loves that song. That's the only reason why I know the lyrics.

And for the record, it's not psychotic, it's girl power.
