1970 - Bryter Layter - Nick Drake
1971 - Electric Warrior - T.Rex
1972 - Close to the Edge - Yes
1973 - Birds of Fire - Mahavishnu Orchestra
1974 - Bad Company - Bad Company

1976 - 2112 - Rush
1977 - Low - David Bowie

The 1970's is the only decade I fully love when it comes to rock and roll. I love other rock music from other decades, but the 1970's is my fix :woot:

Nice list as well Fred, great to see London Calling on there.

I think the 70's are hard to beat, I love stuff from the mid to late 60's too and the new heavy rock/metal bands of today are great but I'm gonna take a look at the 80's here.
Lets see.

1980 - Ozzy - Blizzard Of Ozz
1981 - Whitesnake - Come An' Get It
1982 - Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
1983 - Dio - Holy Diver
1884 - Deep Purple - Perfect Strangers
1985 - The Cult - Love
1986 - Black Sabbath - Seventh Star
1987 - Rory Gallagher - Defender
1988 - Jeff Healey - See The Light
1989 - Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Step

That 'Love' album by The Cult is a nice pick. There are some great songs on that album that just aren't 'radio friendly' so no one other than Cult fans know about them. What a shame...

I'm sorry but I can't do it. I have to cheat and tie the 90's with the 2,000's. All my hardcore favorites came out with their best albums in the 90's but all the favorites I listen to now came out with brilliant albums in the 2,000's. The other problem is I have trouble picking one just for each year. I'm almost envious that some can just say with reservation what their favorite decade is. It would save me a lot of money to just have one. :heheh:

I don't give a shit if this is overkill as I started buying music in the 90's and really picked up when I got my first c.d. player in 1995. Since then it's been overkill in trying to keep up with all the great stuff and balancing all these great albums where I don't even have to skip a song. If there's one thing I learned it's that If I had to have a cut off date I'd start my music from '89 on as Aerosmith-Pump was my 1st #1 album and Nine Inch Nails-Pretty Hate Machine as well as Mr. Big Lean Into It came out that year. I like classic rock (60's, 70's and 80's) and even more since being here but I'm able to prune out the albums I like a lot easier and I don't get the same rush from it. I also find that I really didn't get into the 90's with Nirvana and Pearl Jam the same way most did. I was thrust into it a couple years in by The Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos, etc. as the more layered artistic artist of the time.
