Great news, but I already knew that lol as they are better, I think I keep amazon afloat with what I order. I do however keep the only shop in chesterfield (HMV) in mind weekly and any place I visit I always search out a music shop (and pub) :)

Do you have the vinyl section there? Here in Reading they opened few months ago and so far they have some good releases and some prices are quite fair (apart from Alice Cooper for example, £40!).

It's a bit bizarre that an album released 18 months ago is considered old, even for statistical purposes. According to this logic, an Adele record represents an old album. Old to me is the first Cream or Jeff Beck Group album!

I look forward to when they say rock music is outselling rap again.

No surprise there guys after all all music made after the 1980s is by and large a re-hash of music and ideas from the 1960s & 70s that have been done before by other bands AND BETTER.

Currently listening to a lot of "classic" 1970s DEEP PURPLE and enjoying it guys!!.

Sad but true! By December 1980, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, John Bonham and Bon Scott were all dead and the last musical movement that truly shook the world, i.e. punk, had mutated into the polite state of mind that was U2 and Simple Minds.

Still lots of great music around, but the golden period had ended.

I guess I'm glad I have all my old vinyl, never got rid of it, have a lot of old 8-tracks too!!

:grinthumb Sometimes holding onto personal treasure amounts to a pile of gold when you hear news like the OP of this thread.. BTW.. Somehow over the years I've ended up with two LZ III albums original pressings with that wheel in the cover.. And as a collector my LZ collection is treated with care.. Thank God after all the parties I had my vinyl made it through all these years un-harmed..:heheh:
