Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh is to release his first solo album in nearly two decades.

As yet untitled, this will be the man’s first since Songs For A Dying Planet in 1992. Half of the new album has been produced by Walsh himself, with the rest being done with Jeff Lynne. This should be released in the spring.

“I’ve been working on it for a long time during the Eagles downtime,” Walsh told Undercover.fm. “I’ve got new stuff after about 18 years that I haven’t done an album”.

Been hearing about this one for a while.

I knew Jeff Lynne was working on it earlier in the year, along with his own solo project (which has also been a while coming). Good to hear it's still on track, Joe's the man :grinthumb

Yes!

Love ELO and Jeff Lynne - but I'm not too thrilled that Jeff Lynne's fingerprints will be on this album.

But, I'm still looking forward to Joe's new album.

Last I heard this was meant to come out May 2011...

Anyone heard any news on this?

(P.S. Sorry for the bump. I was googling for info on this album, and this was on my search engine, so I thought, what the hell, I'll ask! You lot are smarter than Google anyway :) )

I will be looking forward to that! Thanks for the heads up!

Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh

That`s a term that I have always had a problem with....I know he is a member of The Eagles but I`m old and when I think of Joe, I think of The James Gang and Barnstorm.....and yet he has been a Eagle longer. Probably something I should get over.

I seen Joe and Barnstorm play at the Ozark Music Festival in `74`, The Eagles were there too...a short time later he joined The Eagles.

End of rant <-----:uh:

I'm with you Garrett, I've always preferred Joe's solo work and Jame's Gang more than when he joined the Eagles. I always fight a losing battle with Eagles fans, but Hotel California is not my favorite album of their's.

I haven't heard a peep about his new album, I'll have to look around and see if I can find out what's going on.

I think the last thing I remember Walsh doing was Ordinary Average Guy. Dorky tune, but humorous at the same time.

Nothing is going on LG, just the same as Jeff Lynne's new solo album. Joe's album is on hold until the end of the year and Jeff...well, your guess is as good as mine.

Thanks Annie, two heavyweights sitting on their new albums...doesn't seem fair to me.
