I hope it's ok to post this in the Rock Lounge forum.
Anyway, I have a problem with my beautiful vintage Pioneer PL-300. The tonearm counterweight has broken clean off :uh:
I don't see any way to reattach it other than attempting to use super glue. But I doubt that is going to hold up well.
I have researched the web for replacement parts but I keep coming empty. I'm not sure what to do. Will the entire tonearm need to be replaced? Does anyone know of a website that supplies vintage parts?

You could try your luck here BCM.

AudiogoN: The High-end Audio Community

Have you looked on e-bay?

Try Craiglist and see if anyone has a tonearm available. From the look of things you are going to need a new one. Last resort, a local Hi-Fi repair shop might be able to fix it...but that's hard to say from just looking at your picture.

Here we have Kijiji...and Canuck Audio Mart...they are both good places for old gear.

And if you post what you are looking for someone might have exactly what you need...for a price.

^^Yes in a pinch I would just find another vintage TT and buy it GG.

BCM...check your local repair shops. Just explain what happened give them the model of your TT and they might be able to find parts and fix it for you. At that point it depends how Much you want to spend to fix it.

I would go up to about $150.00 to fix an old TT. After that I would buy a new one, Thorens, Dual, Project all make very nice TT's for a reasonable price.

I'd forgotten about Needle Doctor Masher...I'll be ordering a few things from them in May myself. Best online TT/Cartridge/Accessory store on the web.:D
