At one point, Metal Edge used to be a great way to find out about bands, both major label and smaller label groups. Not anymore, though.
Creem was the best Rock & Roll Magazine of all-time.
I know People put down Rolling Stone & I can understand why but what is worth getting is the 3 disc DVD-Rom of Rolling Stone Cover to Cover. It contains every issue up until 2007 but what's great about it is the search engine. You just type in a band name or a movie or an actor or actress & it will list every RS magazine they are in & tells you what disc to put in to find the article. I always thought Kiss was shunned by Rolling Stone but there were a lot of articles & reviews on them. The coverage RS did on the events leading up to & including the deaths of Nancy Spungen & Sid Vicious are great. Alice Cooper had a few cover stories & many articles & reviews. Plus it has all of the old ads.
When I fist seen it in 2007 it was an outrageous price of $125.00 but within 6 months I got it for 24.99(plus it came with a 2 year subscription!). I was at Borders the other day & they were selling them for...$4.99!!! I never was a huge fan of RS but this is definitely worth getting
