Most Overrated Artists/Bands of 70s?

What do you guys think?

I'll start with a couple who I think

- The Eagles (Gotta' Agree with the Dude)
- Kiss
- maybe Cheap Trick as well

I'll go with the eagles, but Joe Walsh is a wizard.
I think Kiss were awesome.
I think Billy Joel is an overrated lounge lizard.
Elton John could be erased from history as far as I'm concerned.
ELO, BOC and any disco could be zapped as well.

And finally.....wait for it......Rush. Flame away.

Elton John could be erased from history as far as I'm concerned.

Was there anyone who put out more iconic, time tested hits in the 70's than Sir Elton? I think not. I would far too upset if his music ceased. Also, Billy Joel is a cool hombre too.


I will agree with with everyone the Eagles though. They've never wowed me.

I'll take RUSH, BOC, ELO over Kiss anyday of the week.

I agree with Cosmic Elton John's early 70's albums are excellent, after Blue Moves I did think he lost a lot.

Billy Joel, 3 of his albums I like, but the rest I never listened to.

The Eagles....their Greatest Hits is a massively important album to me, shows off every element of their range and talent. I didn't really enjoy them as much after Joe Walsh joined though, and went years before getting a copy of "Hotel California".

I'll lob Bruce Springsteen out there (Whom I like), when Born to Run came out it showed such promise, but then a huge legal dispute arose that basically hamstrung Springsteen for a long time. Out of his entire discography I only really like Born to Run and Born in the USA which was an 80's release if memory serves.

I agree about Springsteen.I never cared for him.Joel is okay,but I would never buy anything by him
