Since the days of Jackson 5 right up to his sad decline...I never could stomach the bad things he was accused of but I can't deny his amazing talent or his amazing ride through pop music,
As a little girl growing up in the burbs of Hartford Ct ..I loved his cartoons first
then his brothers and he just sky rocketed into 70's pop..hit after hit
Off The Wall was amazing tranformation ..until the royal Tour De Force of THRILLER..Which was THE album of my senior class in 83 ! I remember going to a party to watch The Thriller video on Mtv..soooo exciting..and we danced to the entire album at my prom....just so much part of my growing up
then he just sorta went into this crazy haze of superstar..plastic surgery hell and self hate..it was sad painful to watch..then came the rumors and lawsuits..
I wanted to toss out my Thriller album but I just never could
something always draws to Michael.He is a sad curious mix of respect and awe,,wondering why his life was so full of amazing..lead him to drugs and self destruction..
my son loves M.J ..AND yes I don't think i could let him hang out with him
but we look at him as a talented person..with great music and charisma but who made bad choices..
in the end there is no denying his talent...thats what we focus on..
such a part our culture
he even shows up in odd places
