The Hunter is solid, but it's not having as much of a lasting effect as say Leviathan, CTS, or BM. Might take some more listens, idk. But I've noticed others are saying the same thing.
As have I. Interesting to read they made their albums based on elements or some form of concept album. Leviathan I think was Moby Dick inspired?
The album I'm listening to now actually. Going to listen to every album again, I still want to get The Call Of the Mastodon which I think is tracks they made before they did Remission.
Remission I have to say is certainly a grower, taken the 4th listen now to truly get into it, that and having seen a thought out review on this album on youtube.
March of the Fire Ants is a great track.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uShqlufsq5w
As is Ol'e Nessie
This album has the rawness, very sludgy nature to it, for a debut album the production was pretty damn good too. Remission is a must buy really.
Hey, what do you guys think about Mastodon and Feist little project? Both are polar opposites but they released an EP where they covered each others songs! I thought it was pretty cool! Check it out!
Feistodon
A Commotion (Feist original followed by Mastodon cover)
Black Tongue (Mastodon original followed by Feist cover)
