Obviously a good entertainer and a shrewd businesswoman. But as a musician she's a lightweight. I always thought of Madonna as a company and records were one of the products she produced.

She is an excellent songwriter and performer! She isn't manufactured by some record label executive, she does write her own songs and choreographs her work. Amazing talent, IMHO.

Songwriting is just as important as playing an instrument. In Madonna's case her voice is her instrument, and she has a unique voice that is unmistakable.

Most of my family (weirdly) liked this song

IMO albums before Confessions On A Dance Floor are proper pop, after that is just :yuk:

Madonna was badass in the 80's and 90's. Her personality lost some of the appeal after she got into Kaballah but the music generally remained good... until Hard Candy. That was one of the worst albums I've ever had the misfortune of listening to.

Hopefully her next album will be stronger, but farting into a microphone would likely be stronger than that.

My favorite stuff was during her spiritual Kaballah period! :grinthumb Your last line cracks me up because it reminds me of the recent South Park episode where all the music sounds like farts! :oyea:

So, anyway for Madonna fans if you don't have some of her early albums they are selling at a wicked awesome 5 bucks in the new Wal-Mart music bin. I almost went for it and maybe I still will but great deal for fans who haven't caught up on the earlier albums! :cheers2

I have all of Madge's stuff and I have to say I love all of her albums except skip over Erotica and continue on with Bedtime Stories up to Music. Not the biggest fan of the dance stuff she seems to be putting out these days. And I totally agree that Ray of Light (you're probably thinking of Shanti/Ashtangi Soots, which is from that album) is one of her most creative periods in her everchanging image and career.

Madonna is like my female Zeppelin.

Is that more specifically what her spiritual beliefs were at the time? :)
