    Like a Prayer (1989)
    Erotica (1992)
    Bedtime Stories (1994)
    Ray of Light (1998)
    Music (2000)
    American Life (2003)
Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005)
    Hard Candy (2008)
    MDNA (2012)

Madonna is a very polarizing icon! She's been loved and hated but rarely ever a lukewarm reaction is to be had with her. She's had the biggest set of brass balls in the music industry and has taken so many creative avenues with her music that no one can say she didn't have an artistic side. Going from 80's bubblegum dance to the most sexual pop star of the 80's to the vogue fashion queen to androgynous erotic mistress to respected actress in a musical to electronic influenced Kabbalah pop artist to modern day dance queen to the cougar still making waves today. Madonna is a genius and no one can say that she didn't make great music around a moderately decent voice. The best artist make good music that fits their boundaries and Madonnas made one solid hit after another because of songcraft! Love her or hate her you should respect her in some way!

    My Madonna picks:

    Like A Prayer

    Material Girl

    Rain

    Frozen

    The Power of Goodbye

    Loved here. :grinthumb
Where to start after the Prince thread I just posted in..:heheh:

Another top notch performer in the pop music world.
A success story for sure. She pushes the envelope when it comes to keeping herself interesting and off the Parental Disclosure list..
I'll post some video's in a bit.. But really like Madonna!!

I both like a decent cross sample of Madonna's recordings and respect her as an artist/musician as well as a businesswoman. Unlike so many other rock divas past, and particularly present, Madonna was never just a studio creation. She was her own creation. I absolutely cannot understand the criticism of Madonna from some quarters.

One of the things I like about her is how she took great delight in scandalizing the easily offended. For example, after being paid handsomely for filming a Pepsi commercial, Madonna giggled "Wait until Pepsi sees my next video!" It was the one for "Like a Prayer"! The stuffed shirts at Pepsi blanched when they did - and opted not to run the commercial. But Madonna had already been paid. I mean how can you beat that?

Madonna is genius. She builds her career on shock value and scandal, then packages that with song and verse, and sells it as Madonna.

I have almost her entire discography. I love her electropop to pop and ambient feel she has in her music.

her first release and the song that started it all

Obviously a good entertainer and a shrewd businesswoman. But as a musician she's a lightweight. I always thought of Madonna as a company and records were one of the products she produced.
