So I've been listening to "Slick Black Cadillac" by Quiet Riot a lot recently, and I love it. But in one line, he says "I got a Cadillac monkey on my back, and I don't mind." What is the "Cadillac monkey"?

A 'monkey on your back' is just a metaphor for an addiction to something. Apparently Dubrow (or whoever wrote that song) is addicted to Cadillacs.

darklyrics.com has two different lines.

For the QRII version, they have "I got a Cadillac monkey by my back".

For the Metal Health version they have "I got a Cadillac marquee by my back".

I guess "monkey on my back" does make more sense, but Kevin did a lot of coke in those days, maybe he couldn't remember what he sang 4 years earlier.
