Nah...I'm goin strange on this one...I have one of their records passed down from my moms collection, and to me all their songs sound weird, boring, and repetitive. No offense to fans though, I'm just expressing my opinion.
Devo is an acquired taste. However, they were brilliant in the fact that they
developed an entirely new style of music. Most are followers, very few are
innovaters. Devo was an innovator.
That is a cool T. The first time I heard DEVO is when Dr. Demento played "Jocko Homo" on his show. I've been a fan ever since. "Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA" is my favorite DEVO tune (thanks for the post MP) and "Freedom of Choice" should be required election year listening.
definitley wasnt around in the their heyday lol, but getting into new wave, i came across these guys, like some new wave groups, theyre weird, artsy, but cool. one thing i didnt know that the frontman, mark mothersbaugh, composed music from one fo my favorite shows during my childhood, rugrats!
