Well, when they first performed I thought they were strange. But I'm not very open minded when it comes to music. Even when I was younger, I stayed with the mainstream music more.

Devo is definitely one of those groups that you have to acquire a taste for. I remember "Whip It", and this song is catchy, otherwise, I dont much care for their artsy music style.

I will say this much, they are entertaining to watch, but I still don't like their music.

Ahh I love Devo.

(I actually have a sweater with DEVO on the back - caricatures of the band, with their flower pot hats and all.)

Their music is of course very strange. It's music for people that think about the lyrical content instead of just listening to the music. These are smart guys.

What keeps me hooked is the (over)use of synthesizers.

I love this song. It was the only reason I bought "Freedom of Choice" on vinyl. The LP version has a more electric sound to it but this is so terrific. Mark Mothersbaugh. He's entertaining as hell.

That's the song I like by them too..They were tops during the whole punk thing in the 80's..

When Devo first came on the scene, I initially thought they were a strange, other end of the spectrum band but swiftly "got it" and enjoyed their music, mostly the lyrics.

And yes, Mark Mothersbaugh is brilliant and quite an interesting person to listen to in interviews and such.
