Classic metal bands still classical sound

Is there any metal bands from the 80s that still retained their classical roots or close to their original sound? Like Saxon, Iron maiden still pretty much have retained their same classical sound, even though people say they turned power metal but to me its close enough?

I am into new age of british heavy metal / german, hair metal

Yes, around 2004-2005 they resurfaced with a new lead singer and a studio album that was very enjoyable.
