Review
First of all, there's really not a whole lot to say about how spectacular this release was and is, but I am going to attempt to be as detailed as possible. Ever since Are You Dead Yet? i've always enjoyed listening to Children of Bodom, there's something about the vocalist and the instrumental work that sucks me in every time. They have a variety of different talents, and have shown it through the years. Their last release, before this album "Blooddrunk", was a bit of a let down in all honesty, but i'm not going to go too much into that in this review. I'm just happy to see that they picked it back up.
When I first heard that COB were releasing a new album this year, I will admit that I was a bit skeptical, but I quite honestly had no idea what to expect, but that was proven wrong, especially when the first song on the album instantly packs a punch:
I'm pretty sure you would agree that after listening to that song, you are more than willing to give the rest of the album a chance, I know this because that's exactly how I felt when I listened to it. It's always a good thing to have the first song in any new album draw the listener in right away, otherwise it's one of those "2 or 3 tracks are great" albums. Not this time though, I thought every song on the album was fantastic.
There aren't a lot of complaints about this album, if any. It definitely was different then what I was expecting, but in some cases that is a good thing. I think in this case, it was pretty much a given that I was naturally going to try and focus on if they messed anything up, considering Blooddrunk being a let down, but I honestly think that this deserves a spot in my top 10 albums of 2011 so far. Yes...I am aware that there have not been a lot of releases yet, but even after a few more releases this year, it will probably still be in my top 10.
A couple other songs I seemed and still do enjoy were these:
It's very hard for me to put in words how amazing I think this album is, so instead...I am going to provide a link to the album for you to enjoy as well. I think I wrapped up pretty well what I thought about the album in general in this review.
