Seein' MP doesn't mind if we go out of sequence I'll post a Chicago album that the critics roasted but I really liked a lot. "Hot Streets", released when punk and new wave were making a huge impact on the rock music scene, I bought a vinyl copy of this one for the song "Alive Again", and for about 15 years it remained the only Chicago album in the library.
Terry Kath – guitar, vocals
Robert Lamm – keyboard, vocals
Peter Cetera – bass, vocals
Lee Loughnane – trumpet, vocals
James Pankow – trombone
Walter Parazaider – woodwinds, vocals
Danny Seraphine – drums
Here's the complete version of "Ballet for a Girl in Buchannon" ....
This is Great stuff....
from Chicago II (1970)....
Part 1 Make Me Smile
So Much to Say, So Much to Give
Anxiety's Moment
West Virginia Fantasies
Part 2 Colour My World
To Be Free
Now More Than Ever
I love their first 3 or 4 albums, especially the first one. One of the most unique bands in rock history. I really lost interest after they started writing love songs, somewhere around '75 or so.
I was a fan of quite a bit of Chicago's work from the early 70's up to about the mid 80's (ie: Chicago 17 or so, if I remember correctly). At that point, I pretty much lost interest in anything new they released. Honestly, I can't even say for sure if they reelased any new material after that. *heh*
One of the tunes from the 80's that I still love. Brings back some memories from my teens
