^^I agree they were at their peak in the 70's and early 80's, after that I lost track of them and couldn't tell you how many albums they've done.:dunno:

Their last (non Christmas) studio album was XXX (30), but any official compilation or live albums uses a number.

There are a lot of numbers used up for live & hits albums after Twenty 1, whereas up to Twenty 1, there were only 3 or 4 I think.

The Very Best Of Chicago: Only the Beginning, with 39 tracks, is good enough for me nowadays, and the tracks were all remastered, so it sounds great.

Yeah I know they really came out as Chicago Transit Authority in 1969 but they are more so associated with the 70's and the 80's so I am starting a thread for these legendary rockers from the midwest here in the 70's forum...where they truely live and shine!!
Indeed they do!!!!!

I love first album.. The 2nd is good also but not quite as good...... I think thier LAST good record is thier 1982 one.... (Chicago 16)

Great Band. Lively rhythm section; powerful horn section; three great composers (Robert Lamm, Terry Kath, James Pankow); one inventive guitarist (Terry Kath); one great vocalist (Peter Cetera).
After Terry's death, unfortunately, they lost brilliance.

^ That is one really well recorded live concert. Especially considering it's from 1969.

Even then they were a tight live band.
