I seen the Fire of Unknown Origin tour also & it was great. That show had Foghat & the Whitford St. Holmes band opening in my area. The Extraterrestial Live album was from that tour

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

The first thing I thought of was how I was introduced to "Burnin' For You" through the film "Joe Dirt" :lmao: Of course, "Don't Fear The Reaper" is my favorite song

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I found this band via Guitar Hero, but I'm a big fan of "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" and "Don't Fear the Reaper".

I need to find more of them

Don't be ashamed Feldy! Any way is a good way to find new music!

I wouldn't have known about about Dinosaur Jr. or Jimmy Eat World if it weren't for me and my brother playing GH!

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

Before Cultosaurus Erectus, came an album that created a lot of controversy when it was released. Produced by Tom Werman(Ted Nugent's Producer), released in 1979 Mirrors. It had a much more polished sound than many BOC fans were used to, many of whom think it's the worst album they ever recorded. Even the band didn't like it, one quote that makes me laugh was,,,"It would make a good frisbee!".

Having said all that, I Like Mirrors, there is nothing wrong with it, the songs are good, and I think it's the best Engineered album BOC released in the 70's and possibly ever. I don't think you have to have a "Skinny" sound to preserve the raw feel of a BOC song, so you can count me in as a Mirrors fan.

I Am The Storm.

Re: Blue Oyster Cult

My brother got their greatest hits album, (along with XTC's, Steely Dan's and Eric Johnson's) so I'm currently in the process of nicking it, and I will soon be educated about them! :D
