Def Leppard from my hearing of the music sound more rock than metal to me.

I love 80s metal but I've never given a rats ass about Metallica. Slayer and Iron Maiden I find overrated also. Since my favorite material from Judas Priest is from the 70s I'll go with Bathory.

I consider Motley Crue & Ratt glam/hair metal, but otherwise they would also be on my list.
