I might pay $70 for a actual sketch like the one here of Jim Morrison.. I think it's a good job and I don't see the sidewalk artist thing at all.. It's too detailed to be done like they do drawing characture's.
I'm into art if it's a classic rock artist.. A friend of mine does acrylic paintings and I own three of them. A Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, and a Jim Morrison..
Nothing wrong with a reproduction if it's something you like.. Pencil sketching's are hard as hell to do..

thanks for some real input

You realize of course that the more you post the more obvious it becomes that your only interest is in hawking this picture for the maximum price it will draw. Admit it. You're in the picture selling business, aren't you?

Unless I missed it, I don't think he ever said anything like "I'm a huge Doors fan, I bought this cheap and was wondering what it's worth". Not sure why you keep making it seem like he did.

i was wondering the same thing lol but i'm not into letting anyone derail me so i wasn't trying to go there

my opinion is unbiased regardless of what i'm speaking of or trying to sell just fyi

but i do like the doors , at least a few songs but i'm not the hugest fan by any means but i recognize a potential bargain when i see one and that's exactly what i got .... even if i cant sell it

the sketch itself is almost too good , that's why i'm curious who went through the trouble of sketching something this detailed of morrison and how its made it into my possession - i cant see just any old artist doing this for fun in his spare time , this seems more along the lines of something someone paid to have made or sketched for them or of them

keep the good info and positive feedback coming , i may take another pic just for size comparison - l8r

I might as well add my unsolicited two cents...

elitelegends- I understand your enthusism that you may be in possession of a valuable piece of art, but are you sure what you have isn't merely a black and white lithographic print from a production run? If you look at the poster under a magnifying lens, is there a small dot pattern which the eye can not otherwise see? I'm not trying to burst your bubble either, just trying to help you acertain what you have to begin with. Can't tell if it's a charcoal sketch or a print from the pic you posted.

If it's a Litho it would have a number somewhere on the sketch with the number of proofs copied and what number the print you have would be.. Like this.. 156/53 156 is amount of prints made from the original picture and #53 is the number of the print you have..:cheers2

If it were a high-end piece, then I agree. Otherwise... caveat emptor. ;)

PS- how 'bout that John Force? Good to see him back at the top. Thank God for Neff!
