From what I heard from one of my coworkers J-Lo can't say no to anyone, Steven Tyler hits on everyone women who walks in that's above the age 18, and Randy doesn't really matter even though he's the only original judge left (I think he's most concerned with his dance crews. ;)).

Re: American Idol debut ratings drop double degits

^^My personal rating.

Number of Idol shows watched since the debut = 0

Number of Idol shows I will watch this year = 0

Impact Idol has had on me on any level = 0

Effect the demise of Idol will have on me when it's canceled = 0

Sums it all up as far as I'm concerned.:grinthumb

Agreed.

The only Idol related product I ever bought was Katharine McPhee but I had no idea she was part of Idol until after buying the album.

I think the country music world would have been all right without Carrie Underwood and most of the other "winners" have already vanished from the landscape.

I wasn't going to comment on this thread other than The STEVE TYLER joke lol...because everyone pretty much knows how I feel about American Idol and it's lack of integrity etc...

but Aeroplane and Lg's summary is pretty close to my opinion and said nicely :D

I would like to add that I admit I like two former contenders on A.I. but they never won...but they seemed to do pretty well w/o American Idol..in fact BETTER then any of the winners ...well Carrie Underwood won some awards but as Areo put it..it's a short shelf life for her like others (Clay Aiken, Kelly Clarkson etc..how ARE they doing ?)

The two I speak of are Jennifer Hudson who did Broadway 's DreamGirls then went on to star in the movie version...and snagged herself a Academy Award :cheers2:
Jennifer Hudson ;DREAMGIRLS

And Constantine Maroulis who apparently was on season 4 of A.I. and did NOT win as he was in 6 place...ermm..
his voice was not their tastes ..and I think he's done ok w/o them

He's a Tony Award winning star of the massive hit musical 'ROCK OF AGES'

I'm going to see it in NYC in March :):cheers2

With all due respect to it's fans..American Idol REALLY doesn't know crap if they passed on these two imo...

Constantine in ROCK OF AGES is the Lead male character in blue
