The snow is beginning to thaw, but more is forecast for tomorrow (Sunday). It is quite cold and can only be about half a degree above freezing. On the local news, there was the usual footage of cars nose down in rivers, buses sliding on the ice and HGVs trapped on motorways, so it was a bit galling to hear that Australia had its hottest day in recorded history yesterday.

The problem with England, despite all our snow and rain, is that our local authorities are NEVER prepared. It comes from central government, and I would like them to tell me what they are doing with all the money they are saving.
