Around 15 years even. lol
It has a couple of alright tunes but yes for the most part it is an extreme chore to get through.

I can agree there being a couple of alright tunes...I always liked G n R(I even liked the Spaghetti Incident) and for myself it wasn't that it was an extreme chore to get through as much as none of the songs stuck with me and left me not much desire to go back to it

It took him a long enough time to finish it wasn't it something like over 10 years?.

I remember reading that the Chinese government weren't happy about the album being called Chinese Democracy anyway I wanted to like the album when I first heard it but I've only played it 2 or 3 times right through since and I vaguely remember thinking this is a long cd when is it going to finish??.

That's not Guns 'n Roses. It may have that label on the cover, but that is 100% "The Axl Rose Band". If it was some other no-name band, it might not be bad, but when you consider GnR's debut, Lies and the Use Your Illusion albums, Chinese Democracy is a turd.

The Gunners. Never took them to serious as they did themselves and as for Slash the guys a walking parody of a rockstar guitarist.

Paradise City is ok I suppose.

Well, what do you know? - Coming from the user who wondered if The Jimi Hendrix Experience was part of that whole British invasion thing or not just because 'Jimi was American', I'm not sure if you take anything serious; Dump on GN'R, hand The Jimi Hendrix Experience over to America, what next?

your opinions aren't facts I suppose.

On the other hand, Slash is the one who stuck to his, er, guns, and has continued to turn out some great classic-style hard rock. He can be as much of an asshole as he likes if he carries on doing that, as far as I'm concerned. Rock stars will be rock stars. I don't look to them for lifestyle tips - although part of me wishes I was him! lol But I always thought it was Axl who was the rock star parody.

My favourite GnR track:

On my way to work, I tried to listen to Chinese Democracy. For the love of God, what in the hell made them EVER release that piece of shit album. I had a VERY hard time even listening through the first 5 songs.

Calling this album shit should be offensive to feces all across this world because most shit doesn't stink as bad as this release.

Seriously, as much as I have ripped on how bad Metallica's St Anger album is, St Anger is INCREDIBLE compared to this Chinese Democracy. The nicest thing I can call it is "trash". I listened to it on YT years ago when it was first released and I thought it was bad, but I don't remember it being THIS bad!

I'll be on the road for several hours later this week and I'll see if I can get through the 2nd half of the album, but I don't have any good vibes based on the first 5.5 songs.
