Beats me but they went into computers and MP3's to try and stay current I think. I have not heard anything about them recently, I will be over in the Manchester store on Friday so hope to get some more CD's, you never know. I won't be trawling through their bargain bins tho lol I know whar I want...

^^That's a problem for "addicts" like you Sweaty, you've got almost all the CD's you want already.:hp:

I think you'll have to make the trip to Concerto count even more this spring.:cheers2

There are rumours abound that Dragon's Den star and owner of stationary store, Ryman, Theo Paphitis, is thinking about buying HMV. Apparently he has spoken to the Daily Mail saying, "My interest for HMV harks from an era that thinks what a great brand. Often I have looked at things and thought is there something there? I could put a Dyas or Ryman in some of its stores, and am also talking to the administrator of Jessops where I have identified some shops, as well as Blockbuster."

^^Not familiar with Paphitis, but we have the same program here "Dragon's Den".

I sure hope they work something out, it would be ironic that a company bought HMV Canada and it stays afloat and the original HMV started in England goes extinct.

^^Since Sweaty posted this thread I've spent over $200 in our HMV shop on the south side, it's got a very good selection of DVD's/Blu Rays...CD's like Sweaty I've got almost everything I want and am collecting vinyl these days instead.

Be nice if someone buys the shops and makes it work, I would love to see a shop full of great prog, jazz, blues and metal albums, the kind that you don't see very often, they would sell and the word would get around, prob sell some nice thick vinyl and at no point should they be selling chocolate or stupid phone covers or even games!!!!

A music store should be selling music and maybe films but leave the other stuff to tesco or other supermarkets, if there was a proper music shop I would be there every day and probably spend more as I can see it and hear it.

Any other thoughts...answers on a postcard.....:)

But for the rest you are right concentrate on the business at hand and leave the fluff to Starbucks etc.
