Just really listened to this band for the first time...love their sound. Listened to the entire "Wake of Poseidon". Definitely going to check out some more of their music.

I think Wake of Poseidon is a top shelf record and I love the cover art. Back in the day KC got some criticism for producing a near duplicate of their debut ITCOTCK but I never looked at it that way and just enjoyed Poseidon for what it was.

This band's debut will forever be untouchable by any band, in any genre, by any composer on any planet in the universe. There, I said it!

^^I would have guessed you felt that way looking at your signature SAG...;)

KC's debut is one of the landmark recordings of it's day, but I don't rate it quite as high as you do.

It's up there with Close to the Edge, Dark Side of the Moon and Brain Salad Surgery. 21st Century Schizoid Man is one of my favourite tracks of all time.

The "Shock and Awe" that 21st Century Schizoid Man sent through the rock music community was unparalleled, at least when it came to the beginning of the Progressive rock phenomenon.

I came late to the KC party, but I have most of their albums now and all of their early and best ones.

The early albums and the John Wetton era are definitely the best. I could never get into the Discipline version of the band.

Yeah, me too. There are definate similarities but In the Wake definately stands on it's own merit.

I have the Starless and Bible Black LP, but it's way over my head! I think I'd like the "Court" LP much more.

Of the three Wetton era studio albums Starless is the weakest to me. I love The Night Watch and The Great Deceiver really rocks but most of the rest of the album is maybe over my head as well and I have been listening to it for about 30 years.
