Great times and as a 48 year old it is great to make the old grey matter work hard trying to remember exactly what happened at the show being an 18 year old at the time and not fully appreciating the true extent of the Bands you are watching

Re: Slade, Feel the Noize

Great pics itsjim, I saw them a couple of years after that at a Christmas gig at The Shoulder Of Mutton. Noddy dressed up as Santa and started passing a few bottles of Brown Ale to the crowd before kicking into Merry Christmas. A fantastic night, the security were a local Biker Club.

Yeah but havan't heard it for donkeys!!. Does Dave play 'slide guitar' from start to finish on it??.

Picked up Jimmy Lea's solo album called THERAPY a few days ago with a bonus live cd that goes with it from a gig in the UK in 2002. Jimmy goes under the recording name of JAMES WILDE LEA on the cd cover.

I'm not quite sure. Probably it is Dave playing slide guitar. I always considered him as lead and Noddy as rhythm guitarist.

I listened to the very first album by then Ambrose Slade 'Beginnings' and I was surprised by what I've heard. Some good tracks, a bit bluesier.

Yeah i know Dave played lead and Noddy played rhythm but i just assumed that Dave played slide-guitar on The Bangin' Man for some reason??.

I always liked there 1970 album PLAY IT LOUD that whole album is an enjoyable listen from the first track (Raven) to the last track (Sweet box).

I like PLAY IT LOUD along with SLADE IN FLAME both good albums.

When i was at secondary school in 1970/71 in the UK i remember Slade still had the skinhead look of cropped hair, braces & Doc Martin boots or as they were more commonly known back then as "bother boots" which me and my school friends thought looked pretty cool.

There BIG HITS at that time in the UK were GET DOWN AND GET WITH IT & COZ I LUV YOU.
