Slade were massive in the UK in the 70`s. I used to watch them on TV as a kid and they were the first band I saw live. A class good time rock outfit.

They had 6 number 1 hits and Noddy used to ride around as a youth in his dads van going to gigs with his mate Robert Plant.

Re: Feel The Noize.

I am a huge fan of 70's glam rock but Slade is far from being my fave in that arena. They are certainly good though.

They never really broke through in the States possibly it was an English pub rock twist that appealed to their fans, just a good laugh and a beer but they were a really good live act.

Well just because someone wasn't a hit in the US doesn't mean that I don't like them. If anything I'd probably like them more since overall the UK has much better taste in music.

Thats cool, I`ll have to take your word for the taste difference. I think that Slade had a spell of bad luck shortly before a U.S. tour Don Powell had a car crash just as they peaked which set the band back and timing plays a great part in getting the breaks.

Re: Feel The Noize.

Slade brings back a host of childhood memories for me. One of my best friends in school emigrated from England and he had some really obscure records, Slade being one of his favorite bands, he even saw them live in the early 70's.
