Thriller... not keen on Jackson anyway, but there are far better albums of his out there for me both before AND after Thriller....:D

I was sorely disappointed with Master of Puppets at the time.... after Ride the Lightning it lost me...:bonk: and Megadeth took up the slack with 'Peace Sells' and 'So Far...' :D

Personal only... I am sure there are people who love MofP as a definitive album... I would not class it as overrated, but a personal disapointment... I am sure Lars Ulrich and his bank manager really worries about my opinion :oyea: on this and I can only say... they should be bothered... guys you owe me one more good Metallica album before you go (WITHOUT LOU F'n REED!).:pullhair: :oyea::oyea:

Well to be honest Metallica owes nothing to anyone, they make music the way they want to, I admit I haven't been too kind on them lately but more that I aint a fan of their recent involvement, anything they do with Lou Reed has nothing to do with them as an official release. They can do what they like.
I find Kill Em All to be a tad over rated too, that album needs urgent remastering.

Good God get a grip.. it was only a lighthearted joke... not a command from me direct to Lars Ulrich...:oyea: :oyea:

(not sure how many of these --> :oyea: :oyea: I have to put in for it to be recognised as sarcastic humour and no more than that...:uh:)

I don't care what they produce in the future I would be highly unlikely to ever buy another Metallica album. :D

They might do a folk album complete with twin flute attack next if they want to... who cares? Only Metallica fans... I am not one of them..:D

:omg:Chill out.:omg:

To be honest a lot of what I said was passively sarcastic too, for one I don't find Kill Em All over rated, secondly I don't really give a shit who has a dig at Metallica. :oyea: I have had my share of pot shots at them for the garbage albums they have been involved in.
I am chill. Hell I still make fun of Hetfield for being a table.

Def Leppard Hysteria has to go up with the most over rated for me.
Its a good album but damn does it lack the harder edge albums like Pyromania and High n Dry had going for them. Not near as awesome as people make it out to be. To some extent it is way too radio friendly almost to a point of being more 'pop' oriented.

Thriller by MJ. It's a good pop album but, very overrated. I think it was voted greatest album of the last 25 years by MTV UK in the mid 2000's. He only wrote 4 songs on it and some people viewed Michael Jackson as the second coming of The Beatles.

I never quite got what was soooo great about this album:

Purple Rain - Prince and the Revolution

I mean, the title track is probably my fav song here. When Doves Cry is okay, I don't get the hype. The other tracks sound like... fast paced 80s stuff. What is so earth shattering about this album?

Actually, Prince as a whole I find a bit overrated. I like a good handful of his songs though, especially from the 90s... stuff like Most Beautiful Girl In The World, My Name Is Prince, 7, The Max, Cream, Diamonds And Pearls, Gold etc. I never quite got into his 80s stuff except for a few hits here and there. But as a singer, I find his voice to be just okay. He is a showman though. And I respect that. But still, I'm not filled with adoration for him.. something that I see often on internet forums.
