Best heavy metal band of the 80's

If Iron Maiden is heavy metal, so are Metallica. Yeah, they turned hard rock, but there was a time when were metal, heavy metal. They would even shove it up your ass if you so desired.

I know this place is hurtin' for contributing members & everybody is entitled to an opinion, bla bla bla....

But if Poison is now considered Heavy Metal (the best, no less), please someone shoot me & get it over with.

I'd have to say Maiden since I wasn't into what Priest was doing even in the early 80s too much and at least Maiden had two great albums in that decade.
