Could be it's not my area of expertise, but considering she was a celebrity who had very public struggles I am still surprised they waited this long. It drags it out even more for her family, which should be the biggest consideration now.

I'm sure we'll find out in a few weeks the results of this inquest.

You would have thought that would be announced within a day or two of the tragedy...this is way late and it could have been done already.:nw:

I know that in the case of the autopsy, it took a couple of weeks for the results to be made. I'm sure if they could have done it any quicker they would have.

Whatever the ultimate result of this question, we know at least she didn't die overdosing on crack or anything like that. Which should shut the mouth on quiiiiiite a many people who immediately declared her death as an overdose. And as far as her death being somehow more blame-worthy than Bonzo, Jimi, Janis etc? That's out, too...

Zero illicit drugs found in Amy's system at the time of her death.

Good to see Amy vindicated.

Vindicated? Um, until the autopsy reports are concluded, there's no indication, it just says that there were no illicit drugs. How many "legal" drugs are available to people?

I didn't see so many people saying "she died of an overdose" as people that said they wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she died of an overdose. Not the same thing.

Right. Alcohol is probably statistically more dangerous than crack, if all one were to look at is the numbers of how many lives it destroys. But doing a legal drug is different from doing an illegal drug. It doesn't vindicate her from being someone who has used drugs, it vindicates her from the people claiming she was a strung out crackhead upon her death, and the people claiming she was damnable junkie compared to the hordes of music greats who have succumbed to alcohol.

I didn't see so many people saying "she died of an overdose" as people that said they wouldn't be the least bit surprised if she died of an overdose. Not the same thing.

I'm not talking about on here, bruh, I'm talking about on Facebook and Twitter, where people often let their feelings out unabridged. I didn't see anybody slip the words "wouldn't be surprised" into their messages on there. I can screencap some things if you honestly don't believe me, but I'm sure you have no trouble imagining exactly what these kinds of people were saying.

If it's true that she died "trying to get sober" then that is almost the ultimate irony.(If she had gone into Rehab then this might not of happened,)

She actually did go to rehab, LG. More than once in fact. From what I read she concluded her latest stint in late May.

And as far as her not having any illegal drugs in her system at the time of death goes....well as I've said before I still wouldn't be surprised if she had an overdose of some sort but more than likely I think the cause of her death was a mixture of things with the most damaging being that she very publicly indulged in a LOT of substances for as long as she did. All the same though, people are already forgetting her because the fad of her death has faded.

^^I didn't realize that Cosmic...

Still no matter what comes next, I will always think of her hit song about "Rehab" and her not wanting to go through it and clean up and her terrible lifestyle choices that no matter what did contribute to her early death. Even if they don't find anything else after the inquest is completed.

I just saw on the news that Back To Black is the all time best selling UK album of the 21st Century. Why they don't just say the last 11 years is beyond me.
