Many people vote for a performer they like as an overall package rather than just singing ability, which I am sure helped Dylan best 4/5 of the field. I found it odd that Fiona Apple made it on (she has a good voice, not arguing that) yet Linda Ronstadt didn't even make 50? Linda is an incredible singer, better than probably half the people in this thread, but the majority of her music library is unpopular "old man" country and that hurts her in voting.

I like Bob Dylan in the Top 10. As someone said, he has the perfect voice for what he sings. And (maybe I'm the only one) I see in him a lot more passion in his singing, I can hear sometimes that he really means what he sings. Not all singers can do that. Most can sing really high, or stuff like that, but really showing what you mean to express is the hard part. That is why I voted for him.

Linda is an incredible singer, better than probably half the people in this thread, but the majority of her music library is unpopular "old man" country and that hurts her in voting.

I can say exactly the same thing about John Lawton, he is also an incredible singer, yet totally unknown and overshadowed by others.
