Cool April Fools NYC Strokes show tonight. It was their first public hometown gig in over five years and they were happy to play MSG for the first time. The nite started out with a april fools surprise band-Elvis Costello & the Imposters who did a quick four or five song setlist before going to play 10 blocks away.
Funny I just saw Elvis and Diane Krall(his wife) eating out in the village on Monday. Elvis made it back to play "taken for a fool" with the Strokes:
The Strokes played a killer set and the new songs sound great live athough they didn't play many. Julian was extremely wasted and walked thru the audience twice. The band was full of smiles.

I was there too! Amazing show but it was really short! (barely 1 and a half hour) I was really happy when they started playing "Ask Me Anything" I did not expect it at all . I love that song. The disco ball and the screen playing pacman, tetris and space invader were pretty cool...cool stage
^ yeah didn't expect AMA either. Great song. As much as it was a great show it got sandwiched between two LCD Soundsystem crazy shows. T5 was a 3 1/2 dance party and I expect a final insane show tonight as MSG.
I had plans to take a road trip down to Bonnaroo once we got out of school, but, as usual, those plans were short lived because there's no way in hell parents are letting all of us take a road trip from Chicago to Tennessee to see a music festival! :mad
I REALLY REALLY want to see The Strokes in the near future, I will be buying tix immediately once they announce Chicago dates....
