Re: Marillion!

This band slipped past me unnoticed which astonishes me seeing I love prog rock as a rule. Only have three albums but so far Misplaced Childhood is my favorite.

I'll have to check out some of the rec's from the knowledgeable members here.

Yeah I think they had some really good cover art, and the music is not bad either.:)

Re: Marillion!

HUGE fan here...have been since day one. I have everything they've ever done, including a rare Interview Picture Disc that has always hung in my studio.

Naturally I prefer the Fish version, but as a true fan, I have embraced Hogarth as well.

Fugazi, is another great album.

I have that one Mz, and Clutching at Straws, but nothing else.

Which other albums would you recommend with Hogarth?

I would recommend the first one with Hogarth - Season's End.

Easter is a beautiful song, and seeing I don't know too many Easter songs (other than the kiddy tune Peter Cottontail - hahaha), it's always something I play during that holiday.

But I really love the song Uninvited Guest, it was a real turning point for the band into a more pop-rock direction....really decent tune, great lyrics.

Picked up an MP3 version last night Mz, so I'll be putting it on my Sansa for a thorough listen later this week, thanks.:grinthumb

Re: Marillion!

Love Marillion, though I've only got their greatest hits album. (as with too much of my music, sadly) Between You And Me is easily my favourite song of theirs, it's heaps good.

Re: Marillion!

Nothing wrong with that Salmacis, I started out with a few compilations myself that led to the complete discography of many bands.

I only have 5 of Marillion's albums right now, maybe I should pick up some more.:D
