OK we're opened back up here & a little cleaned up.

Let's have fun gang...and respect those that like Yoko and respect those that don't.

She was bound to come into the conversation and that's all good. She has a voice in all this.

Carry on and play nice.

Well if you hate worshipping stars, why the hell do you post here? Sounds pretty hypocritical to me. You are, in a sense, worshipping musicians by posting here.

My "worshipping" of stars extends only as far as my turntable (and my keyboard now that I've embraced this newfangled computer technology).

:lols:

These rock star fellows are nothing but raw material for me. They're for amusement purposes only. They're nothing to get excited about - unlike the taxman and other government bureaucrats.

I think Yoko absolutely had control of John. That being said, if John were still alive, I bet he and Yoko would be divorced right now. Had Yoko not conveniently gotten herself pregnant with Sean, John very well may have divorced her at that time. Yoko knew what she was doing from day one. You should look into the whole May Pang thing.

Yoko is repulsive in every way and she is pure 100% shit. I have no sympathy for her and I don't believe anything she says.

Tomcat:

You're just coming off as a misogynist ..

Also, how can you know if one person truly loved or even controlled another person? I'm not a fan of Yoko and I never give her a thought but I do feel sorry for any woman who's husband is murdered.

I don't doubt she (Yoko Ono) was a gold digger.

John pursued Yoko first.

How anyone can support or defend Yoko is mind boggling to me.

Don't love or hate Yoko....

Try and love everyone...it's just, sometimes you don't agree with what people do...

So, no need to hate Yoko...

but, I kind can understand the hatred of Yoko...she was kind of a weird duck....she kinda had a good and bad influence on Lennon.

Hmmm....I could say I ''hate'' a lot of rock stars....and I do, but more a strong disliking, than hatred, to be honest.

Groovy I dont think that is what happened. According to a Lennon Historian here is how he met Yoko:

On November 9, 1966, to the dismay of many Beatle fans, John met Yoko at the London’s Indica Gallery. She approached John telling him that she was in need of a patron to help her financially with her artistic endeavors. Soon after their first meeting she gave him a copy of her book “Grapefruit” and then began to stalk him. She sent him hundreds of notes begging him for money and even resorted to threatening suicide if he did not finance her art. Finally John agreed to a “business meeting” with Yoko while Cynthia was away on vacation. She ended up spending the night and continued the affair mostly in the back seat of his Rolls Royce. The affair remained a secret until May, 1968 while Cynthia was again away on vacation in Greece. Yoko used this opportunity to move in with John. As you can imagine the abandonment of Cynthia for some eccentric Japanese artist was not well received by the British Press.

And further documenting how obsessed with Lennon Yoko was:

The Summer of 1973, John began a highly publicized affair with Yoko’s secretary May Pang. Together they moved out to California to begin what Lennon referred to as the “Lost Weekend.” He spent his time drinking and raising hell. Yoko, then after seeing that perhaps she was on the verge of losing Lennon and his money forever, begged him to come home. Upon his return she appointed herself as his business representative and assumed complete control of his money. To seal the deal she became pregnant with Sean who was born on John’s thirty fifth birthday.

It was no coincidence that Sean was born on John’s birthday. Previously Yoko had tried several times, to complete this feat only to end up miscarrying. She believed in the superstition that if a son is born on his father’s birthday, he will inherit the father’s soul upon his death. So on October 9, 1975, Sean was surgically removed by caesarean section, prematurely.

And in reguards to his cremation:

John was taken in a body bag from the morgue to the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel at Madison and 81st Street. From there he went to Ferncliff Mortuary in Hartsdale, for cremation. Lennon was extremely fearful of the practice of cremation, and despite this, Yoko chose to burn the Beatle. I’m sure she was aware of his feelings, because he had once wrote against the practice in a song.

None of John's family was consulted prior to the cremation.

Well, I believe Lennon told a different story of how they met...

but, there's always seems to be three sides of a story...

and the third always being the truth.

I'm not saying what you found...is or is not the truth...

no one really knows exactly....not even so called ''Lennon experts''...

but, I wouldn't be totally surprised if what you posted is true...

or some of it being true...

but here is the simple story, that I know of John meeting Yoko...

When John Lennon met Yoko

All the rest, is ''hearsay''...

And you have to remember, there are tons of ''Yoko haters'' and ''basher'' writing books, talking trash about her, saying this and that about Yoko...

so, who knows?

And all that other stories you posted by the ''Lennon historian''?...

If Lennon was still around...I'm sure he'd tell a different story set the story straight...

but again...like I said earlier...Yoko Ono was a ''weird duck''....so, all those ugly stories could be all true?!

And if Lennon married a wacko....blame John....not Yoko...

I think John and Yoko's love was real...

John loved Yoko....and Yoko loved John.

No doubt.

And I'll end with John and Yoko were a whacky couple, so anything is possible.

And who wrote that book? Walt Disney?

Did you read the biography of Snow White? I think you might like that one as well. She led a very interesting life. Walt also wrote that one.

Why isn't there a flood of literature bashing Linda McCartney then?

Because where there is smoke, there is often a fire, lit from the flames of hell, which were personally carried up from Hades by Yoko herself. I doubt a bunch of strangers got together to conspire against Yoko, there has to be something to it all.

Every once in a while an open and shut case like this one comes up and I think of capital punishment instead of parole for people like this idiot. I don't care about the psychobabble mumbo jumbo and slick defense attorneys doing their utmost to get their guilty client off or a reduced sentence, when you murder someone like he did, you forfeit your right to life.

I know Hammurabi's "Eye for an Eye" code of justice is beyond ancient, but in some instances I don't think it's been surpassed as a proper punishment.

I agree on the topic of capital punishment or the death penalty.

Why waste tax dollars housing, clothing and feeding someone like Chapman or Charles Manson for 55-60 years?

Besides, if the point of keeping them behind bars is partially because people worry that they could do that type of crime again then capital punishment is the only genuine and 100% guarantee that the person in question won't be doing such a crime again.
