Hey BG, thanx for the drumming vid links....I had already seen the Peart and Bonham ones, but they were still interesting to watch again.
Here's my view on those 2:
The Neil one is from the 80's and is really good....shows off a lot of speed and "world music"cultural percussion instrumentation.
The Bonham one is ok, but definitely not his best, it's an early Moby Dick version from the Royal Albert Hall in '70...parts of it are cool: his soloing skills were just developing still.
I'm listening to the Ginger Baker one now, it's incredible!....the girls hit some good harmonies with their singing too.I had heard of Air Force but had never seen this vid so this site is a major good find!

Just finished watching the ones by Moon and Lars.....both were really good.
Moon is playing a clear Ludwig "Vista-Lite" drumset which was really popular in the 70's and even the 80's. Bonham played these on the '73 and '75 tours....Moon had a lot of energy though this is a short clip.
Lars' solo showed some really good speed and power skills although the double bass drum work helped....he might even be playing a "double pedal " at times, this can add a lot to a drum solo though I respected Bonham's use of only one bass drum.
Bonzo got a lot of rolling power out of one bass drum on songs like "The Ocean", "Good Times, Bad Times" and the pre-bridge in "Kashmir" among others.
Bonham is still my favorite out of all these drummers!

yes, you tube is the greatest site of all time.
I'm glad you started this thread, we need something like this.
even on dial-up I have REALLY good luck watching most of that stuff.
here's a Gumby episode that really screwed up my head when I was a kid.

I think it just screwed me up again.
Thanks You Tube!

p.s. david hasselhoff doing i can't stop this feeling is not to be missed.
Yes, yes it can be missed. OMG, I saw had to attend some kind of promotional BS thing where he was doing that show about the talking car and he sang some song and made me absolutely ill. He seems like a nice enough kind of guy - in a Hollywood kind of way, but don't ever let him sing a song...any song...

i didn't say it couldn't be missed becuz it was anything close to *good*. it has to be seen so that one may experience the true meaning of the word, ACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. i mean, it really does have its own appeal as a kind of festering cheese, ya know? actually, it.. it defies true classification.
