Wintersun

Official Website

INCREDIBLE power/folk/melodic death metal band from Finland, formed in 2004. The lead singer is Jari Mäenpää, who is the former lead singer of Ensiferum, which Wintersun where only supposed to be a side project but thank goodness they weren't and they became what they are now because they are amazing. Their self titled album is the best, imo.

Studio Albums

Wintersun (2004)
Time I (2012)
Time II (2013)

Anyone else a fan of this incredible band?

[Magic]

I don't know this band, Page, but I will surely check them out.

[Oblivion]

<3 great thread.

[taha]

like mixing onion and tomato, they're good till the guy sings

[LG]

^^...lol. Have to agree Taha, I just don't get the growling vocals some bands feel they have to use, but Foxy has introduced me to some bands from the Doom genre that were decent.

[Oblivion]

I found his growling/screaming pretty good... as far as screaming goes..

[FoxyPage]

These guys aren't doom, lol. Doom music doesn't have a lot of growling. Doom is more Black Sabbath - ish.

The growls take some getting used to.

Even for someone who listened to black, death, doom and all other metal for years it's pretty hard to put genre's to the bands.. Imagine how hard it must be for LG

*bump*

FINALLY, it's reported on their site that their new album will be out in 2012.

This better happen. We've waited long enough.

[Harkat]

My favourite band, I just love every single part of every single song
Like a really good long kiss with that person you love to bits

Sleeping Stars and Beautiful Death are my favourites.
