Primevil ~ Smokin’ Bats at Campton’s (1974)
Hard rock, proto-metal, psychedelic rock USA
700 West Records

The Band:
  • Dave Campton – lead vocals, harp, percussion
  • Larry Lucas – electric and acoustic guitar, vocals
  • Jay Wilfong – electric guitar, screams
  • Mark Sipe – bass
  • Mel Cupp – drums
The one and only album by Primevil. There was a single released in 1972 “Too Dead to Live”. It has been said they burned the master for the single because it sucked. I can’t find it anywhere!

This album is a cult classic for those who collect proto-metal. The heavy bluesy riffs and stoner friendly grooves are a must have.

The album cover looks spooky, but the music contains zero evil…….
