Richard Harris - MacArthur Park
Love that stanza that goes:
MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
The writer is taking about a broken relationship with a girl he was in love with and how he'd never be able to get that back. MacArthur Park (a real park in LA) was the place they'd spend their time together. Makes me think of my own lost youth.
