Re: Fair Warning

I think its great ! And a classic. Its the most true musical album in their whole catalog. Dark, edgy , experimental but not f-ing off like on VH2 and WACF. Each side of the "album/tape" started with a heavy/dark tune and went into just weird stuff. Has almost a concept album feel to it even though its not. As far as musically , i think its their best. Love the vibe of the intro on " push comes to shove ". Great album.

Re: Fair Warning

Loved the Fair Warning Album. Never could get enough of the known 2 on the album (MEAN STREET & UNCHAINED). I whole heartedly agree that some of the songs were used for fillers. SO THIS IS LOVE was so-so that actually made the live video cut. Hmmmmmm, which brings me to this.... The 3 songs mentioned had official live videos & aired on MTV. I wonder if the cameras were rolling during the entire FAIR WARNING Tour, choose these 3 songs and decided the rest of the footage be locked in the Van Halen vault???

Re: Fair Warning

Anyone notice the crappy level adjustment right in the beginning of So This Is Love? Amateur production on that if you ask me. Like most VH fans, I wore this out when I was a teenager.

Re: Fair Warning

7 for great.

Women and Children First and 1984 were IMO better, and the first two albums, well, what to say, like everyone else I was blown away by this new sort of energy, heard nothing like it since the first Montrose album (also produced by Ted Templeman)
