Re: Uriah Heep

I remember buying this album as a kid because I had heard the song above
and liked it a whole lot. After seeing the album art I thought that this had to be a return to the heavy Heep that I love. Don't kill me for saying this guys but if I remember correctly there is only two heavy songs on this one ?

I remember being very disappointed but I haven't heard it since a few years after it's release. Should I give it another chance or is it pretty mellow like I recall it being ?

Re: Uriah Heep

^^I've gone back and played an old forgotten album more times than I can count and come away with a new perspective and appreciation for it.

I'll dust Abominog off and give it a spin this week sometime.

Re: Uriah Heep

Abominog is an excellent album, imo! It quickly became one of my favorite Uriah Heep albums that doesn't feature the classic lineup of Byron, Hensley, Thain. Although there are some cover versions on Abominog, each of those songs is done extremely well, imo!

A couple of songs that I greatly like, enjoy and crank up loudly!

That's The Way That It Is

Think It Over

I have had many a chuckle about the Abominog cover art! :heheh: Both with wondering how it was chosen for a Heep album, and the person who pitched it to the record company, too! :peek

I've also had a few thoughts along these lines about the choice for BS's Born Again album, and also with regard to some peoples reactions with seeing those album covers for the first time and possibly not even listening to the music? If that has happened, then some people certainly have missed out on great music, imo! :heybaby:

Re: Uriah Heep

Most of the people I know would buy those albums because they would
expect them to be HEAVY due to the artwork.

Even if some people didn't buy them I bet many more DID because of the artwork.

^^That's true enough I have bought many an album just because I liked the cover. Most of the time I have lucked out and enjoyed the music too.:D

I Won't Mind

You know I have said before...that Uriah Heep sounded like a HEAVIER Three Dog Night to me and Three Dog Night sounded like a mellower Uriah Heep...

I still think that way and hear the similarities in their sound...then I find THIS!!
