My listening time breaks heavily toward live (versus studio) - probably 80:20 (%), if not more many weeks - so the elimination process becomes difficult early on, especially since I could line-out an ez 20 between the Dead, ABB & Phish alone; so I'm going to restrain myself w/ only few selections of each and completely ignore bootlegs (while admittedly cheating with respect to the Dead by culling single releases that encompass a lot of music):
1. Grateful Dead: Europe 72
2. Grateful Dead: Fillmore West 69
3. ABB: Fillmore East
4. Phish: Amsterdam 97
5. Phish: Hampton/Winston-Salem 97
6. Pearl Jam: At the Gorge
7. Doors: Felt Forum 70
8. Velvet Underground: Matrix Tapes
9. Old & In The Way: Boardinghouse Tapes
10. The Who: Isle of Wight (my soft spot over Hull & Leeds)
11. Stiff Little Fingers: Hanx!
12. Kinks: To the Bone
13. REM: Greensboro 89
14. Zep: How the West Was Won
15. Patti Smith: Dreaming of the Prophet
16. Judas Priest: Long Beach 5/84
17. Dylan: Royal Albert Hall (66)
18. Morphine: Bootleg Detroit
19. Pixies: NYC 12/12/04
20. CSNY: 4-Way Street (definitely over 1974)
Ouch! No AC/DC; Paul Butterfield; Clapton (D&D @ the Fillmore!); Canned Heat; Ten Years After; GnR; Tull; Young; Smiths; Pistols; Floyd (this one really hurts, but I couldn't find room for Umma Live and Pulse lacks the classic line-up...everything else is ROiO); Pogues; Cash; Hot Tuna; or Skynyrd.../p,k
