I'm a classic rock kinda guy..

Watch yourself Slip, some people might accuse you of being close minded - musically...and that you listen to the same songs over and over and over again....

:heheh:

C'mon man, mix it up with some Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Justin Beaverlake...

and Ne-Yo!

:lmao:

Disliking everything made after Bozno died doesn't make you any more of a classic rock fan than any one of us, for the record. ;)

I wear my badge of honor with pride.. Close minded is a figure of speech.. I've expanded my mind in ways some on here have yet to achieve..:heheh:

Deja Vu.. I've known you for years now.. You were always saying intelligent things.. Don't mess up a good thing and say that above..:wtf:
Classic rock music is what I meant.. Not classic rock bands.. There is a difference there Bro..

Are you saying you like new music that sounds like classic rock? I never said you didn't. I was not replying to any comment you had made.

I was making sure we're all clear on the fact that disliking certain kinds of music does not make anyone a bigger, more dedicated or truer fan of classic rock than any person on this whole board. We all love classic rock on here, and mot of us have dedicated our lives to it. Anyone is free to dislike anything they want, but disliking something doesn't make their love for classic rock any stronger than ours.

Ya missed the point..

2000s

Janelle Monae...Tightrope
Missy Elliott...Get Ur Freak On
Outkast...Hey Ya!
Arcade Fire...Wake Up
Kanye West...Gold Digger
Lil Wayne...Georgia Bush
LCD Soundsystem...All My Friends
Beyonce...Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)
Lady Gaga...Bad Romance

This was my reason for my comment. And maybe there are wonderful great rock bands still out there.. But chances are.. They won't make these types of list.. On that note..What you said about a HUGE amount of new groups.. Sure if you like Prog rock.. I'm a classic rock kinda guy..

There is helluva lot of "classic rock" sounding bands out there. "Retro" is everywhere nowdays covering most of the rock genres. Prog isn't classic rock? What about Yes, ELP, Jethro Tull, King Crimson,.....................................

That is a strange group of songs. Even the songs listed for bands that I like are kind of...eh.

Subterranean Homesick Blues for Dylan? Rock 'n Roll for the Velvet Underground? Heroes for Bowie? I Wanna be Sedated for the Ramones? No Clash? No White Stripes or Black Keys? Neil Young? :wtf:

Gimme Shelter and Folsom Prison Blues are solid picks, though.

Just more proof that the bulk of good music in general, died when the 70's ended.

(NOT saying there wasn't good music made after that.)
Nah, the list is just proof that the people who chose these songs mostly listened to top40 radio over the past 20 years, not that music died.
