Top 100 album list from Time magazine.

http://www.time.com/time/2006/100albums/

"We researched and listened and agonized until we had a
list of the greatest and most influential records ever - and
then everyone complained because there was no Pink Floyd on it.
And that's exactly how it should be."

what a load of crap. seriously. they couldn't find 9 actual albums created in the 2000s worthy of their list? they had to stick 4 compilations instead? i realize the compilations are great collections of music but they're hardly indicative of the state of modern music they're a music machine money maker. if they're going for influence what genre are they limiting it to? all time? no monk, no mingus, and default answers for davis and coltrane....

and seriously they can stick a record from just about every major artist from the 70s but no one at TIME figured an album that was on the charts for 14 YEARS straight (with only one commercially released single) deserved to be on the list?

this list is lamer than kevin federline.

that reminds me!
last time I bought a cd at The Wherehouse they asked me if I wanted a free magazine. I like free things! I said "yes"!
now, it looks like Time magazine is going to start charging my credit card unless I call and say "Free Good, Pay Bad"

nobody said anything about charging my credit card!
so, if you buy a cd and they ask you if you want a free magazine, say HELL NO!

needless to say, I'm not too crazy about anything in Time Magazine right about now.

In a state of deep, deep fascination
Uh, guys, let's take one of the most influential rock albums, and leave it off our list, just cause we can. Then let's be real pompous and say "that's exactly how it should be." Come on, waddya say?

and the 70'shas to be the worst list on earth.

well... i do think dr. dre's the chronic is deserving of recognition for influence.

blaming him for the state of mainstream hip hop is like blaming led zeppelin for 80s hair bands.
