I have to agree. I like to keep an open mind about any type of music, but there is some stuff that I simply don't like (I've looked). Rap/Hip-Hop (same exact thing IMO), Death Metal (Chop Suey might be the only exception, that song is alright), and 95% of modern top 40 shit are a few examples.

Chop Suey isnt death metal >.<;
nor is SOAD

Besides mate, there are various sub-genres of Death Metal

"Y.M.C.A." is one of the most recognizable song ever and should be played at every party and gathering, including funerals.

I'd say the 2000's. Many veteran artists are releasing underwhelming music (understand I am not saying all of them are). At the same time, there aren't really any new artists emerging who I like.

The last new bands to come along that I did like reasonably well were Buckcherry, Silvertide, SR-71, Mars Electric, Stretch Princess, American Pearl and Beautiful Creatures, all but one of which are now defunct I believe. Buckcherry being the only one that is still active.

And at least a couple of them I am pretty sure actually "emerged" during the late 1990's instead of the 2000's, but I am not going to fact check that today.
