Yeah I had a little look around, should be a good festival Climax Blues Band are on and Uriah Heep to name a couple. Wish I'd gone along now.

Butlins Skegness
Every year, over the last weekend in January, in that post-Christmas malaise - a remarkable music festival takes place at Butlins, Skegness in Lincolnshire.
This year, the festival plays host to a rare UK performance by one of the most successful bands in the history of Classic Rock – URIAH HEEP
Fast gaining an impressive reputation on the music lovers festival circuit and as hotly anticipated by the artists as the fans (who regularly travel from the length and breadth of the UK), the weekend has hosted an incredible range of some of Rock and Blues' most exciting and influential artists, alongside fiery 'new blood', too.
2010 was no exception to the high quality & value threshold and event saw a return to its roots by presenting separate BLUES and ROCK stages. 2011 once again presents this hugely successful format, along with a new name to reflect its increasing stature in the Rock & Blues calendar –
‘THE GREAT BRITISH ROCK & BLUES FESTIVAL’
ROCK fans will be delighted at a line up that includes MONSTERS of BRITISH ROCK – making their Skegness debut with a line up that includes former WHITESNAKE members MICKY MOODY & NEIL MURRAY, LAURIE WISEFIELD (Wishbone Ash, Tina Turner) and HARRY JAMES (Thunder) and very welcome Skegness debuts too, for GIRLSCHOOL and one of Rocks best-kept secrets, LORRAINE CROSBY (the female voice of Meatloaf). HEAVY METAL KIDS now include JOHN ALTMAN ('Nasty Nick' Cotton in ‘Eastenders’) and JUICY LUCY return to the festival. The QUIREBOYS are bound to shake things up a bit and if you want classic Status Quo – don't miss JOHN COGHLAN's QUO. ROADHOUSE always deliver…and not forgetting STREET LEGAL.
The BLUES stage hosts the CLIMAX BLUES BAND whilst SANDI THOM continues to highlight her Blues credentials. Crowd pleaser CONNIE LUSH makes a welcome return. DR.FEELGOOD return triumphant, still basking in the movie success of 'Oil City Confidential'. THE HAMSTERS are always eagerly anticipated and the legendary THE PRETTY THINGS are bound to prove they are still a force to be reckoned with. NINE BELOW ZERO are always guaranteed to deliver and KING KING follow their stormin’ set at Colne with their first appearance at Rock & Blues. HERBIE GOINS with the NORMAN BEAKER BAND look to reprise their magnificent Colne set, too. A good time is always guaranteed with SLACK ALICE and GWYN ASHTON brings his TWO MAN BLUES ARMY and THE MALCHICKS put their own twist on the blues. TASTE – original source of the Rory Gallagher legend, still featuring the marvellous JOHN WILSON finally get to follow up their stunning Skegness debut. The GARY FLETCHER BAND sees the Blues Band man stepping out of the shadows once again. PAUL LAMB & THE KINGSNAKES complete another classy line-up.
Finally, there's a rare performance from an intriguing band fronted by TEN YEARS AFTER drummer Ric Lee and also featuring Bob Hall: THE RIC LEE BLUES PROJECT

Sox, why in the hell didn't you go? Man, I can't believe all those great bands on the bill. Uriah Heep, Juicy Lucy, The Pretties, Heavy Metal Kids(have thier first LP), Taste, Dr. Feelgood, Climax Blues Band, amongst others. You guys are getting spoiled over there.
I haven't been to a concert for almost 20 years now, but I would of been there. I bet you're kickin' youself in the ass for not going.

Joe my older brother even offered to get my ticket but I had already just bought a load of tickets for gigs this coming year and christmas was coming up you know .. However Me and Sweaty went with him a few years ago and it really is a smashing weekend.
Sox, why in the hell didn't you go? Man, I can't believe all those great bands on the bill. Uriah Heep, Juicy Lucy, The Pretties, Heavy Metal Kids(have thier first LP), Taste, Dr. Feelgood, Climax Blues Band, amongst others. You guys are getting spoiled over there.

We supported The Pretty Things and Savoy Brown at the County Hotel in Taunton in the mid 60s. Savoy Brown were still a good blues band, very solid & no frills. What you saw was what you got! We had covered some of the early Pretty Things tracks in my first band, but by this time we were an 8 piece soul band & Otis, Sam & Dave et al were about as popular as piles with the crowd that were there. Ah well! The Pretties were on their journey to psychedelia with one of the first light shows we ever saw. The full story is in my book.
